Cultural Anthropology

Zunayed is a doctoral student in Cultural Anthropology. His research focuses on the intersection of religion and politics during anti-colonial movements in 20th-century South Asia. He has presented international conference papers on different themes including theorization of politics beyond its liberal conceptualizations, diversal ontologies from the Global South, political theology, religiopolitical movements, and (de)coloniality of knowledge to the political economy of knowledge. He has been awarded the IRIS International Research and Training Grant in 2023. Prior to joining UWM, he was a recipient of the SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Fellowship and Hamad Bin Khalifa University Fellowship.
