Cultural Anthropology

Lindsey is a cultural and medical anthropology PhD student interested in health, aging, childhood, and care, which she studies using a variety of ethnographic, creative, and participatory research methods. Her research is supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program and focuses on care and interdependence between seniors and children in the Midwest.

Before joining the anthropology department at UW-Madison, she was a Public Health Research Coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine, where she supported several projects in St. Louis and Zambia on pediatric cancer care and family caregiving in hospitals. Her undergraduate senior thesis The Historical Memory of Bedside Caregiving in Zambia was selected for the Nancy “Penny” Schwartz Undergraduate Student Essay Award from the Association for Africanist Anthropology.
