Melissa Reisland
Melissa is interested in primate behavior and conservation, specifically the effect of anthropogenic disturbance on non-human primate behavior. She plans on conduction her dissertation work in West Java on Javan silvery gibbons where she will examine the effects of passive tourism and habitat fragmentation on this species. Melissa has worked as a research assistant in Cape Town on a project determining the effectiveness of baboon monitors and how they affect baboon behavior. She also worked on a project in La Suerte, Costa Rica which examined the context of White-faced capuchin vocalizations.
