Research

Professor Khazanov's research interests include historical anthropology, pastoral nomadism, cultural change and globalization, ethnicity and nationalism, collective memory and public symbolism, transitions from authoritarian/tolitarian rule, anthropology of world religions, and Jewish studies. He pursues these interests in relationship to post-Soviet Union and Central and Inner Asia.
