Gwen Kelly
Gwen is currently on a Fulbright grant in India , conducting research on social hierarchy and technological diversity in craft production at the IronAge site of Kodumanal in Tamil Nadu. Her primary research interests include the origins and durability of social hierarchy, craft production and economic interdependence, applications of practice theory in the study of ancient technology. She recently began a series of experiments with a local potter, reproducing the "classic" Black-and-Red Ware Megalithic pottery in a variety of ways. She has worked on projects in Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. She is a graduate of Oberlin College .
