Brett's research interests are the Indus Civilization and copper and bronze metal trade and manufacture. His dissertation is focused on using a variety of chemical and archaeological techniques to identify raw material source areas and manufacturing patterns across time and space at the Indus urban center of Harappa , Pakistan.
