Biological Anthropology
faculty of the University of Wisconsin - Madison biological anthropology program comprises Dr. Karen Strier, Dr. John Hawks, Dr. Travis Pickering, and myself. Other very important contributors to our program include Dr. Henry Bunn and Dr. Karen Steudel (Chair, Dept Zoology). Our research interests range from modeling Neanderthal population genetics, to australopithecine biology and behavior, to primate ecology. Despite our diverse areas of interest and expertise, we are a highly interactive and complementary group, with a central research and teaching theme of the evolutionary ecology of humans and non-human primates. Our bioanthropology graduate student program is small, but intensive, with exceptional faculty-student interactions.
