February 22 - 24, 2008

The University of Wisconsin-Madison welcomes you to the 36th Annual Midwest Conference on Andean and Amazonian Archaeology and Ethnohistory.

This annual conference hosts lectures and posters about recent and ongoing archaeological, ethnographic, and ethnohistorical research in the Andean and Amazonian regions of South America. Past participants have included scholars from the United States, Latin America, Europe and beyond.

The lectures are free and open to the public.

Friday night conference participants will meet for an informal get-together at der Rathskeller, a German-style pub located inside the University of Wisconsin's Memorial Union, in the heart of campus. Visit the evening social events page.

Saturday night there will be a group dinner at Tutto Pasta Trattoria Bar & Caffe, which is located on State Street in the vibrant heart of Madison.

This conference is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin's Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies Center through the Cyril W. Nave Fund, and by the Madison campus through the Anonymous Fund. The conference program and abstracts will be posted on January 17, 2007.
